Sportsman's Park lies at the confluence of the Red Lake and Clearwater Rivers and is 22 miles (36 km) downstream from St. Hilaire. There are several amenities in the park including boat ramp access. The park has picnic shelters, a shooting and archery practice range, toilets, drinking water, and is near the Rails-to -Tails walkway for easy connection to town. Camping is allowed. (Check for fees.) I
t is about 13.5 river miles (21.8 km) from Sportsman's Park to Old Crossing Treaty Historic Park in Huot. At average water levels, the journey takes about 4 hours. The current can be swift and flows through several Class II rapids, making travel faster pace. Canoeing at low water levels will be difficult.
