This is the first public access site downstream of the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Remember, reservation lands are closed to public access. This upper section of the river flows through open farmland. Paddling is well suited for novice canoers, as river currents are typically slow (except during spring flooding and after heavy rainstorms).
